Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of the HopDrop app and related services (the “App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.

1. Who can use HopDrop

HopDrop runs on iPhone with iOS 17 or later. You must be old enough to enter a binding agreement in your country and to have an Apple Account. If you use the App on an account managed by someone else (for example, Family Sharing), you’re responsible for following these Terms.

2. What the App does

HopDrop is a shopping-list app. It lets you build lists and drag items to mark them bought or unavailable, keep a pantry that remembers what you have, get AI recipe ideas, set optional reminders near your favorite shops, and share lists and a household pantry with people you invite. Your lists and items are stored in our backend so they sync across your devices and can be shared; your pantry and saved templates stay on your device until you join a household.

3. Your account

HopDrop requires an account. You sign in with Apple or Google so your lists are backed up, sync across your devices, and can be shared with people you invite. You’re responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. We never receive your password.

4. HopDrop Pro & subscriptions

Some features are part of HopDrop Pro, an auto-renewable subscription. The following terms apply, in line with Apple’s rules:

5. Recipes are suggestions, not advice

Recipe ideas and any allergen or dietary labels in the App are generated automatically and are provided for convenience only. They may be incomplete or wrong. HopDrop does not provide medical, nutritional, or allergy advice. Always read product packaging and verify ingredients yourself, especially if you or someone in your household has a food allergy or intolerance. You rely on recipe and allergen information at your own risk.

6. Location reminders

Location-based reminders are optional and off until you turn them on. They’re a convenience and may not always fire — for example if location permission is limited, your device is offline, or system settings restrict background activity. Don’t rely on them as your only reminder.

7. Shared lists & households

When you invite people to a list or household, they can view and change the shared content, and you can see changes they make. Only invite people you trust. You can leave a household, stop sharing a list, or block a user at any time. You’re responsible for the content you add and share.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or remove access if you break these Terms.

9. Your content

You keep ownership of the lists, items, and notes you create. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store and sync that content so the App and its sharing features work for you and the people you invite. See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled.

10. Our content

The HopDrop app, name, logo, and design are owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms don’t give you any right to use our branding except to use the App as intended.

11. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind to the extent allowed by law. We don’t guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that reminders, sync, or recipes will always be accurate or timely.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HopDrop and its team aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including missed reminders, lost or unsynced data, or reliance on recipe or allergen information.

13. Changes to the App and these Terms

We may update the App and these Terms over time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continuing to use the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Apple

These Terms are between you and HopDrop, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for the App or its content. To the extent allowed, Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them. Your use of the App must also comply with the Apple Media Services / App Store terms.
